Brance, Lauren & Haddie

We’re still at the hospital. Lauren developed a fairly high fever, 102, and the doctors wanted to keep her another day. The fever broke last night at about 3AM and she’s much better now.

The first day was a little rough. We had a lot of visitors, which was great, but it wore out mother and baby and made feeding a problem that night. Haddie was so exhausted she kept falling asleep while she was eating.

As a result of all the activity, the exhaustion, and Lauren being so worn out, Lauren’s milk didn’t come in as soon as it might. Haddie lost a lot of weight. She lost down to 7 lbs 2 oz. The doctors were concerned because that was about 10% of her birth weight. Lauren’s milk finally came in yesterday afternoon around 2 PM and Haddie is eating well now. She ate every 2 hours last night and wanted daddy to rock her to sleep afterwards, every time. Needless to say, I didn’t get a lot of sleep last night. She’s worth it though. She is so cute!

I’ve got some new pictures from that first day with all the family and friends holding her and enjoying the new life. I’ll go through them and try to post some later this afternoon.

Thank you for all the prayers. We really felt them. The Lord is good and we feel very blessed with our precious little daughter.

It was a rough weekend. Lauren went into labor Friday night at 9pm. it wasn’t regular so we stayed home, but didn’t get much sleep. Saturday the contractions started evening out and regulating. we finally came into the hospital at 10pm Saturday. Her water broke at 11:30pm. she was in labor pretty much all night with very little break. Sunday morning she was just not progressing. They started her on pitocin to help make the contractions stronger, hoping that would help. After 6 hours of the most intense labor, they decided to do a c-section.

She was so strong. She never had a drop of pain medication during the 40+ hours she was laboring.

Little Hadassah (Haddie) Grace was born yesterday at 4pm. Both her and Lauren and doing well. She’s cute as a button.

Update: I forgot to tell everyone, she weighed in at 7 lbs 13 oz, and measured 21.5″ long.

We’re waiting for a baby here. Lauren has been having contractions since last night at 9 PM. We didn’t get a whole lot of sleep last night, sitting up timing contractions.

But no baby yet.

After lunch, Lauren, Dad, and I stopped by the park and took a walk hoping that would help. I took the camera with me and snapped a few photos.

Dad is here waiting for his granddaughter to arrive. We realized we didn’t have any pictures of Lauren and I together while she’s been pregnant. So we got the camera out and took a few pictures.

Lauren and I had a mid-afternoon date today and on the way home we got to looking at the beautiful countryside around us. It’s spring in Virginia and everything is green and blooming. We decided to stop and take a few pictures. Here are some of our favorites from this afternoon. Isn’t spring great?

We’re only two weeks out from the due date, so we decided we’d better take a few last photos before little Hadassah Grace (Haddie) gets here. Isn’t she adorable? Lauren, I mean.
