Boston Day 3

June 29th, 2009 by Brance · 1 Comment

Yesterday Lauren, Haddie and I had a leisurely morning at the hotel. Haddie enjoyed playing in Mommy & Daddy’s bed.

After waking up, we took a short stroll through a posh Back Bay neighborhood and then headed across Harvard Bridge into Cambridge.

Once in Cambridge, we walked through the MIT campus and headed toward Harvard. For reasons I’ll let Lauren explain in another post, we never quite made it to Harvard. After eating lunch, we hopped a bus back into Boston, switched strollers and took our first subway ride!

We took the subway, or the T as the locals call it, out of town to the suburb of Newton. We strolled around there for a while taking pictures and eating ice cream, then headed back into town. Once off the T we walked up toward the Boston Commons, crossed Hadassah Way and picked up burritos for dinner and came back to the hotel for the evening.

Quite a busy day, here are the pictures.

Boston: Day 2

June 27th, 2009 by Brance · 2 Comments

Lots of walking today. We started from the hotel, headed across Copley Square, walked alongside Boston Commons, headed into Chinatown (3rd largest one in the country I’m told), then crossed over to the pier for a seafood lunch and then into South Boston to explore some neighborhoods and check out Pleasure Bay. We also got to see Dorchester Hights/Thomas Park, a Revolutionary War site. We really like that area of South Boston. Then we ate some ice cream and hightailed it back to the hotel because of the threat of rain.

We’re worn out, but really enjoyed the day. Here’s a gallery of photos from the trip, in the order I just described.

Boston Day 1

June 26th, 2009 by Brance · 1 Comment

Here’s a gallery of photos from our first walking trip of Boston this afternoon. We left our hotel and walked down the famous Newbury street. All kinds of shops, eateries, and lots of people. These are just some things that caught our eye as we walked.

And here’s a message from Haddie to her grandparents. Apparently she types in Greek or something!

Boston!

June 26th, 2009 by Brance · No Comments

After a 14 hour drive that started this morning at 1am, Lauren, Haddie and I are in the heart of Boston. We’re staying at a very nice hotel in Copley Square and got a glimpse of Newbury Street on our way in and we’re excited to get out and walk around the city.

Pictures coming soon…

Visitors!

June 19th, 2009 by Lauren · No Comments

One of Haddie’s favorite things these days is visitors.  She gets extremely excited when someone knocks on our door or rings the doorbell.  And when those visitors are Nana and Papa… well then, Haddie can hardly contain her excitement.  Here are some cute pictures I took this morning of Haddie with her grandparents.  It didn’t take much convincing for Haddie to get Papa to read her a book or Nana to snuggle her on the couch.  They are pretty crazy about her, as is her grandpa in Missouri… if it isn’t obvious :) .

Summer Swimming

June 15th, 2009 by Lauren · 2 Comments

Here are some pictures of Haddie swimming for the first time in the pool that her Papa bought her for her birthday.  She had so much fun, if it isn’t obvious from the pictures :) .  But WE might have had more fun watching her have fun!!!  Aunt Holly, Bryan, Nana, Papa, Grandma Ethel, Brance and I were there  cheering and clapping while she splashed and played.
