Haddie does some of the silliest things. One evening she covered Lauren with stuffed animals, and was obviously proud of her handiwork. Another night she put on Lauren’s shoes, picked up a broom, and carried her dirty diaper to the diaper pail. One day when I was keeping her and Lauren was gone, she got out the huge plastic sunglasses they gave me after having my pupils dilated at my last eye exam. And finally, she wore herself out and rested on the couch. The last one is from her nap Wednesday afternoon. What a life she lives!

Dave took all but two of these. I took the one of Dave under the bridge, and the one of Lauren. Dave took the rest.

And to think I had thought that I had made good choices tonight while spending time with friends.  I decided not to drink, even though everybody around me had a drink and even offered me a drink too.  Looking back I wish I would have given into peer pressure and had had a drink of coffee with them.  I might as well since I’m going to be up most of the night anyways and the only thing that is better than delectably gooey moist chocolate cake is delectably gooey moist chocolate cake with a cup of coffee…

Okay, since I’m bored out of my gourd at 2 a.m. and all attempts at productive activity have failed, I thought I might waste some of your time with a picture I found of Brance and I while we were dating.   I think I love looking at pictures because I’m always amazed at how much things can change in a few years time… the way people look, a person’s relationships and their direction in life,  where people live and and all the places they’ve been…the list could go on.

Looking at the picture of Brance and I taken a little over four years ago, I think about the many changes that have taken place for us (outside of the obvious one that my hair is now longer than Brance’s )… our marriage, the relationships we’ve built, the birth of our first child, the wonderful opportunities we’ve had to serve in our local church – to name a few good ones .  I also think about all the changes that the future might bring.  And though I don’t know what all those changes will be, I know that I serve a God who “causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose”.  So even though I know the future will certainly bring both good and bad changes, I rest confident that God’s plans will go forth and his plans are always for good.

Next up are photos from our living room with Haddie making a mess out of her cereal. Daddy’s not as good at feeding her as mommy is. Mommy insisted on pictures of the mess before cleaning it up.

And finally, this morning Haddie decided she needed to wear my shoes around the living room. Isn’t she cute?

Haddie makes Brance and I laugh these days.  She does the funniest things.  Today while in her room for her nap, we could hear her all the way out in the living room saying her own name over and over again.  I’m not sure what that was about, but it was pretty funny.  We’re always wondering what must be going on behind those blue eyes to make her do the things she does.  ”Haddie” isn’t the only name she’s saying either.  She loves to say “mama”, “dada”, “nana”, “papa” and “Holly” which comes out more like “hah-wee”.  Of course her favorite word is not a name at all,  it is “puppy”.  We took her to the St. Louis zoo the beginning of this month while in MO shooting a concert DVD for Clear Blue Productions.  It was amazing; you’re not going to believe it… the St. Louis zoo was a zoo full of nothing but puppies.  Black striped puppies, puppies with beaks, puppies with humps, leopard spotted puppies etc. etc.  Yeah, you got it.  Every.single.animal. we looked at was a puppy to Haddie!  It was pretty cute.  If I remember correctly Haddie’s cousin Katie went to a zoo last year that had nothing but kitties . 

My cousin Seth and his cute baby girl Caleigh had dinner with us last week.  Here are two pictures from that.  Haddie and Caleigh were both starting to get a little fussy by the time we decided to take pictures.  The other pics are Haddie “helping” me with laundry this week .  She loves laundry… pulling it off the couch, putting it on her head and pushing it around in her plastic wheelbarrow.  You can click on the pictures to enlarge them.

I know we haven’t posted anything in a while, so I thought I’d put up some recent photos.

Haddie and I have been sick all week. Today is the first day we’ve both felt good enough to be outside. We’ve both still got a little bit of a runny nose, but we feel much better.

Lauren had a wedding shower at the church tonight so Haddie and I had a Daddy Date. I told her we could do anything she wanted, and a walk outside was the answer. She didn’t actually say that, just indicated it.

She has been talking a LOT recently though. She can now say: Haddie, keys, teeth, eye, ear, puppy (her favorite word, and she knows what it means), mommy, daddy, ball, baby, etc.

Anyway, here are the pictures. The first two are from a family walk in the park last weekend, the rest are from Haddie’s Daddy Date this evening.
